Scholarship Retrospective: Natalie Thornton

Natalie Thornton Boston College (2011), BA, Economics and Studio Art Natalie was the recipient numerous awards while at Boston College including: Boston College Student Programs Office Award for Leadership Skills in Creativity Richard and Marianne Martin University Award for Excellence in the Field of Studio Art Critic's Choice Award at the Boston College Arts Festival Departmental Honors in Fine Art. Expanding upon her senior thesis entitled, "Musicians of My Imagination," in which she created hypothetical album covers for her creative identities, Natalie has been working as a freelance designer since graduation. Her main projects include designing a band's website (The Railflowers) and another band's album cover (The Loose Handle Band).  She is currently taking an online class in XHTML and CSS Web

Scholarship Retrospective Christopher Cichocki

Christopher Cichocki  Cal Arts, Valencia (2001) BFA Since graduating Christopher Cichocki has attained success as a professional artist using his diverse talents in painting, sculpture, photography, video, sound, and installation.  His achievements include exhibitions in Brazil, Japan, New York, Moscow, and Los Angeles, among others — and he has works in the permanent collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum, and MOCA Los Angeles.  Chris has had five DVD and album releases through internationally recognized labels and he is a featured artist in the documentary art film “NOVA.” Cichocki is again living in the Coachella Valley where he is a member/curator for the Coachella Valley Arts Alliance, working on organizing shows and teaching youth workshops starting in October 2011 at a

Erika Walters Film ‘Thief’ at PS Short Fest

Congratulations to La Quinta Arts Foundation Visual Arts Scholarship recipient Erika Walters!   Her thesis film “Thief,” on which she worked as Production Designer while earning her MFA at American Film Institute last year is an official selection at the Palm Springs International ShortFest 2011. Plus, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has awarded “Thief” the Gold Medal (Narrative) at the 38th Student Academy Awards on June 11, 2011.  La Quinta Arts Foundation is proudly listed as 'Sponsor" on the film credits for our contribution to Erika's work on the project.
