La Quinta Arts Foundation former visual arts scholar Yehsiming Jue is an artist and art professor based in the Coachella Valley. The LQAF visual art scholarship program enabled Jue to study at College of the Desert, and at UC Riverside. She earned a BFA in Studio Art and Art History at UC Riverside, and an MFA at Claremont Graduate University.  Jue works as an art professor at College of the Desert. This spring, she will teach a course on Basic Design & Color at the Indio campus.

Jue will also be participating in the COD Faculty Art Show at the Marks Art Center, on display thru March 1, 2018.

Jue feels honored to be showing alongside some of her undergraduate professors. Her paintings and drawings explore the human figure, set in naturalistic and surreal worlds.

The Marks Art Center will host an Artist Reception, on Wednesday, February 7 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm which is also free and open to the public.  The Marks Art Center is open Monday through Thursday from 12 noon to 4p.m. and by appointment. For more information call 760-776-7278 or visit
