TITLE:  Communications/Event Assistant
Consultant, PTE, FTE

PURPOSE:  Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, assists with the research, development, implementation, and delivery of outward communications. Attends LQAF Events and performs Event functions as directed to insure fulfillment of LQAF mission, safety of attendees, and goodwill of LQAF.

REPORTING/STATUS:  Reports to the Executive Director. Consutlant, Part-time to Full-time, some weekends. Willing to work additional hours during peak times. 

EXPERIENCE: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, Access. Working knowledge of Photoshop, Corel Draw, Illustrator, a plus.   Proprietary website maintenance, WordPress,  Social Media.  Writing.  Editing. Google Analytics.


  • Learn LQAF proprietary website, monitor software updates and website functionality
  • Research, develop, write, edit, post content to LQAF website and social media
  • Selects, modifies images to accompany content
  • Develops key words, tags for website and social media content
  • Prepare, monitor social media advertising campaigns
  • Develops LQAF’s communications calendar
  • Responsible to post community calendar listings in print, broadcast and special interest publications, organizations
  • Write, distribute press releases, media alerts
  • Follow up press releases, media alerts, document media opportunities
  • Solicit and schedule media appearances
  • Maintain and expand media contact lists
  • Investigate and identify new media opportunities, procure advertising rate sheets
  • Recommend and negotiate favorable media placements
  • Monitor LQAF print and broadcast advertising campaigns
  • Check and code media invoices
  • Traffic advertising placements
  • Media assistant for Executive Director at LQAF Events
  • Attends LQAF Events and performs additional duties as assigned
