La Quinta Arts Foundation Wins National Recognition

[Charlotte, North Carolina] The National Committee of American Craft Week is pleased to announce that the La Quinta Arts Foundation, La Quinta, CA has won a coveted Star Award for Exceptional Non-profit Participant during the 2014 American Craft Week.

American Craft Week is a ten-day celebration of handmade craft that encompasses more than 1,000 events in all fifty states. The La Quinta Arts Foundation has partnered with five community organizations to create a diverse schedule of twenty workshops and exhibits for all ages, culminating in a two day exhibit and sale of harvest themed glass titled “Splendor in the Glass.”

“Congratulations to the La Quinta Arts Foundation,” said ACW co-chair Diane Sulg. La Quinta Arts Foundation offers diverse events, activities and programs providing cultural enrichment and opportunities for residents, visitors and artists of the Coachella Valley and beyond.

American Craft Week is an annual event produced by CRAFT the handmade industry’s trade association. Each year it coordinates activities across the country which spotlight craft and increase cultural tourism. These include festivals, museums, studio tours and events at galleries.
