La Quinta Arts Festival patrons might be surprised to learn that by attending the festival and purchasing art – you are also ensuring future generations of creative endeavors that enrich our lives.
The LQAF Visual Art Scholarship Program has awarded $1.23 million dollars to over 400 individual students pursuing higher education in the arts!
Now working in every creative field as producers, administrators and educators, these talented individuals have achieved acclaim in film, architecture, studio art and craft, site specific installation art, curatorial practice, fashion design, photo journalism, digital production and so much more.
LQAF scholars are doing great things in our community – and – around the world!
For the 35th Anniversary La Quinta Arts Festival, look for a site installation “Pixel Divisions” and exhibit by current scholar Chris Sanchez, ‘Kas Infinite’ just beyond the Island Bar, see an exhibit and performance by former scholar Marnie Navarro, ‘MLN17’ in the Splash Lounge, check out the Yarn Bomb created by Old Town Artisan Studio instructor Brittany North (with students from the Coachella Senior Center), smile for event photographer Julio Vazquez, connect with Kristin Winters for “Live at #LQAF35”, and view story boards throughout the Festival highlighting the pursuits and achievements of many other LQAF Hall of Fame Scholars.
