Released as a film in 1946 and adapted to radio already in 1947, It’s a Wonderful Life has become an institution to many during the Christmas period. The writer of this story, the infamous Frank Capra, is no stranger to this area. He wrote this film at the La Quinta Resort in the forties and returned to live in La Quinta later on in his life, eventually finding his eternal resting place in a cemetery in Coachella.

It tells the story of despondent and angry George Bailey, whose circumstances and good heart led him to give up his life’s dreams to help others in his small town and who was about to lose it all in the face of a crooked town developer and slumlord. Bailey feels on that Christmas Eve it is better if he commits suicide than to continue living.

Cue Clarence Odbody, a guardian angel who needs to earn his wings. Odbody takes him through the alternate universe of what would have happened if George Bailey would have never been born. He shows Bailey what an enormous difference he has made to his family and community.

Seven actors take to the stage in this live radio performance, where they act out all the characters and produce the sound effects. Lively, fun, entertaining and thoughtful, it will be a wonderful treat for all!
