Jenny Floravita

California artist Jenny Floravita creates breathtakingly beautiful Painted Glass Chandeliers that Transform rooms…and Island Style Art that infuses warm memories of the Hawaiian Islands into your home.

Jenny has been a professional artist for 20 years, working first in watercolor on paper and then in oil canvas…and eventually in glass and metal.

Jenny began her studies in painting, drawing, music and dance as a small child, excelling in all. Her life in the San Francisco Bay Area afforded her great exposure to the arts. Jenny won numerous awards as a young artist including four California Governor’s Medallions and four California State Seals—two each for art and dance. After receiving scholarships, Jenny went on to receive her formal art degree through University of California, Santa Cruz.

In the mid-2000s Jenny was introduced to the rare art form of reverse glass painting. She produced numerous painted chandeliers for the interior design industry. Through various glass artists and metals smiths at The Crucible and elsewhere, Jenny learned warm glass and glass cold-working techniques to create her kiln-formed glass bowls and forging and welding to create her iron fixtures.

Jenny is always striving to grow as an artist to be as multi-dimensional as possible in her fine art career.

Jenny Floravita’s Artistic Process

My reverse painted chandeliers are created by hand—I am the artist. Each piece is signed and one-of-a-kind. Glass bowls start out as flat architectural glass that is kiln formed and cold worked in my studio to achieve the desired shape. The special painting technique that I use is a very old and rare art form called ‘reverse glass painting’.

My iron fixtures are hand-forged and incorporate brass lamp parts where needed.

My painted night lights incorporate the same techniques state above to create the glass shape only the scale is much smaller.
