Art and wine lovers are invited to the August edition of the fun new summer art event series in Old Town La Quinta, “Art & Wine” presented by La Quinta Arts Foundation (LQAF) and Old Town Cellar.

“First Tuesday Reception” on August 3rd, 5 to 7 pm – Meet the Artists & Enjoy FREE Wine Tasting & Appetizers

August’s Opening Reception will feature Metal Sculptors Ric & Tim Vigallon, and Photographer Bart Aldrich—all regular exhibitors at La Quinta Arts Festival and Art Under the Umbrellas at Old Town La Quinta. Their artwork will be on display and for sale at Old Town Cellar throughout the entire month of August.

Brothers Ric &Tim Vigallon reside in Joshua Tree where they create vibrant hand crafted metal wall hanging sculptures, mostly made out of stainless steel and aluminum. Although their art primarily focuses on wildlife, “woody” surf wagons, native flora and fauna, and ocean scenes, they are also adept at creating custom commission pieces. They have sold their sculptures to the Art in Public Places programs for the City of Palm Desert and the City of La Quinta. Ric and Tim’s distinctive work can be displayed outdoors or inside the home. Contact info: / 760-366-8152

Bart AldrichIndio based photographer Bart Aldrich (a former wine sales representative – how fitting for the occasion) began to craft his career as a landscape and travel photographer in the 80s. While Bart is still highly recognized for his representational photography, the area that makes his work unique and sets him apart from other photographers, is his abstract works, a process and style Bart calls “Abstract Photo-Painting.” Several of Bart’s travel, landscape and abstract works have been published in photographic magazines and book covers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia – most recently in the May 2009 issue of Outdoor Photographer.
