“I’m interested in the experience of the moment of the shot, usually a serendipitous discovery. All of my compositions are unplanned, as I am moved by the mood, the moment, the light, the joy of discovery.” – Dirk Yuricich
You won’t need to leave the La Quinta Arts Festival to see the world with fascinating photography by Dirk Yuricich. From the Galapagos Islands to the markets of Indonesia, the temples in Thailand to castles in Croatia, Dirk captures a wide range of historical subjects and landscapes. Over the past three decades, he has traveled, studied, taught, and photographed in over 35 countries.
While he was living in Austria and Japan, he taught Cross Cultural Studies and Languages. So much of his interest in photography lies in the “interaction with another culture, the unique aspects of each place, the discovery of an ever more diverse world, the joy of being alive, and the ever expanding discovery of oneself within that fabric of the world.”
